Manchester Art gallery.

At first I was instantly drawn to the object but then I began to look closer at the image and gain more of an understanding of the piece. This is the type of image I want to create within my final photography images for he degree show, I want to suggest a narrative but not instantly make the image into an obvious representation, I want the viewers to look more closely at the photograph and consider the meaning behind it. Screen Shot 2017-05-19 at 11.31.00.png

I was particularly drawn to how these sketchbooks and notebooks were exhibited within the gallery. I like the fact that the books aren’t immediately available to the public; they can’t touch them or look really closely at them, it made me really consider the importance of the books and consider how I could display my own for the degree show depending on how available I want to make my books to the public.

Mad scientist

I thought that it might be a good idea to buy scientist objects such as a white lab coat and classes and dress up as if the images have been taken as I’ve been drawing on the boards. This shows a preformance side to my work, and something which could be considered for the degree show. It offers the chance to make the work more humourous and playful.
